1. One-Way Viewing Glass

2. Installation of One-Way Viewing Glass

It is a special optical glass made using the principle of optical reflection. During installation, certain optical principles must be followed:

1. The space facing the observation side (glass side) should avoid light sources as much as possible. Guangzhou Nuokunda's one-way viewing glass has undergone multiple technological innovations, making it widely applicable with noticeable effects.

2. The space facing the observed side (mirror side) must have sufficient light, with white light being the best source, as it ensures maximum clarity and effectiveness of the one-way viewing glass.

3. After adjusting the light ratio between the monitoring room and the monitored room, the one-way viewing glass can be installed. Rubber pads 2-3 mm thick can be placed on both sides of the frame to maximize shock absorption and vibration reduction during installation, enhancing the durability of the one-way viewing glass.

4. Seal the edges with adhesive to fix the one-way viewing glass. For one-way viewing glass partitions assembled from pieces, apply transparent adhesive directly to the gaps, which does not affect the performance or use of the glass.

3. Principle of One-Way Viewing Glass

It is a special optical product manufactured by leveraging the high reflectivity of visible light by silver metal medium adsorbed on the glass surface. The metal medium side of one-way viewing glass has high visible light reflectivity, while the special metal medium also allows a certain degree of light transmission.

When looking at the one-way viewing glass from the observed side, due to the ample light in the monitored room and the reflective effect of the metal medium, the human eye can only see the people and objects in the monitored room and cannot observe the people and objects in the monitoring room behind the glass mirror. In contrast, people and objects in the monitoring room, due to the low-light environment, can naturally and directly observe every move in the monitored room with good visual effects and no visual fatigue.

4. Types of One-Way Viewing Glass

Based on product types, it can be divided into the following five categories:

1. Ordinary film-coated one-way viewing glass, such as car window film or window film. Disadvantages: Fast aging and poor effectiveness.

2. Physically sprayed one-way viewing glass, such as frosted glass for bathrooms or shower room sandblasted glass. Disadvantages: Poor visual effects.

5. Grades of One-Way Viewing Glass

Based on mirror reflectivity, it is divided into the following three grades:

First Grade A: Mirror reflectivity of visible light ≥93%, glass transmittance of visible light >85%.

First Grade B: Mirror reflectivity of visible light ≥85%, glass transmittance of visible light >75%.

First Grade C: Mirror reflectivity of visible light ≥80%, glass transmittance of visible light >70%.

6. Determining One-Way Viewing Glass Quality

To determine the grade of one-way viewing glass, the following methods can be used:

① Nail Image Test:

Place a nail directly against the glass surface. If the nail image is clear and closely adjacent to the nail, this side is the mirror reflective side. If the nail image is blurry and there is a distance between the nail and the image, this side is the glass side.

If both sides show blurry images using the nail image test, it can be directly judged as substandard one-way viewing glass (glass mirror surface facing inward in laminated one-way viewing glass).

② Mirror Coating Thickness Measurement:

Genuine one-way viewing glass has a uniformly distributed special metal medium on its surface. Using a standard coating thickness gauge, the thickness of the mirror layer after magnetron sputtering can be accurately measured.

If the coating thickness cannot be measured, it can be directly judged as substandard one-way viewing glass with the mirror surface facing inward in laminated glass.

③ Light Illumination Test:

Shine a daily white light at a 45-degree angle onto the glass surface. If the brightness of the wall significantly increases, this side is the reflective mirror surface. If the light passes through the glass, this side is the glass side, i.e., the observation side.

For substandard one-way viewing glass, since the mirror reflective surface is laminated between two glass layers, the test results for both sides show little difference. This is the most distinctive feature of mirror-facing inward laminated one-way viewing glass.

④ Visual Observation:

Genuine one-way viewing glass, due to the presence of metal medium on the surface, when placed flat on a table, allows the naked eye to clearly see the pure silver mirror coating. When an object approaches, a direct and clear image appears on the mirror surface. For substandard one-way viewing glass, since the mirror layer is laminated between two glass layers, visual observation shows no difference between the two sides, with dim and lackluster images.
